Merge PDF files (combine PDFs into one)

Add your PDFs, drag them into order, type the pages you want from each, and download one PDF. Everything runs in your browser, even offline.

Your PDFs stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no limit on files or pages. Password-protected PDFs can't be merged yet.

    Add at least one PDF.

    Show your work

Merge to see which pages went where.

    How it works

Add your PDFs and put them in order by dragging, with the Move buttons, or with Sort (by name, "Scan 2" comes before "Scan 10"). Under each file, type the pages you want (like 1-3, 7, 10-z) or leave it empty for all pages, then press Merge. It runs in your browser with no install or account, so it works on Windows without Acrobat, on Mac, Android, iPhone and Chromebook.

Turning photos into a PDF first? Use JPG to PDF, then merge. Merged file too big to email or upload? Use Compress PDF.

How we build the merged PDF

The "Show your work" panel above lists every step after a merge. This is what it covers.

    Questions

Are my files uploaded? Is it safe for confidential documents?

No. Your PDFs never leave your device. The merge runs in your browser, so there is no server copy to delete. To check, load this page, turn off Wi-Fi, and merge. It still works.

How do I take only some pages from each file?

Type them in the box under each file, like 2-4 or 1, 5, z. z or last is the last page. r2 is the second page from the end. 8- means page 8 to the end. odd and even pick every other page. 5-1 puts pages 5 to 1 in reverse order. Leave the box empty to use every page.

    What happens to fillable forms?

Fields stay fillable. Two fields with the same name would share one value, so the one from the later file is renamed, for example Name becomes Name-2. Or choose "Flatten forms" to turn filled-in fields into fixed text. XFA forms keep only their standard PDF view.

Why is my merged PDF smaller (or bigger) than the files added up?

Pages are not recompressed, so quality stays the same. Fonts and images shared by pages of one file are stored once, and the file is saved in a compact form, so it can come out smaller. Adding the same file twice copies its fonts and images twice. To shrink the result, use Compress PDF.

    Why can't I add a password-protected PDF?

Locked PDFs can't be merged here yet. Open the file in a PDF reader, choose Print, then Save as PDF (on Windows: Microsoft Print to PDF), and add the new copy. This works if the file allows printing.
